error downloading codec?! HELP!!!

Ok, so i have windows media player, rite? so after i download a video thingamabob (and it takes a few hours tyvm!) , i try to play it, but i get this thin that says "error downloading codec", and i get the sound, but not the video!!!!!!!!!! it just really ticks me off!!! so somebody PLEASE help me!!!

You have a choice. I'd recommend this player because it has in-built codecs & is very reliable: VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site)

Otherwise, if you want to downld extra codecs for WMP, see CODECs list and alternate players for Movies

alrighty ill try it, but just a question... wat dows error downloading codec mean? and wat is a codec? srry but im kinda oblivious...

Here's 2 definitions CODEC & this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codec

Error downlding codec probably means the program was attempting to download a codec from the windows site but couldn't find an appropriate one or the url changed, or is simply a reflex reaction when it doesn't have the codec but doesn't really know what to do.
