![]() Hey man, Same problem. Here's my specs: High Speed Wireless (through Platinum Communications, formerly Canopy Canada) In Canada - around 237 kbps Windows XP Limewire Basic 4.12.6 Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0_06 Avast! Anti-Virus Zone Alarm Firewall Router - D-Link 802.11g/2.4 GHz good connection From Home Tried Morpheus, same problem as well, tries to download from host, and then downloads unbearably slow (under 1 kbps, usually so low it says 0 kbps) I am sure that these are not the bad downloads, since the ones i tried aren't popular (Dimmu Borgir...Isis...Neurosis) and they only had one or two hosts. I downloaded from only high speed (no modem) ones. Just finished deleting .limewire under application data. Oh yeah, and I tried it with Zonealarm off, but didnt try with avast off, im not that risky ![]() There are 5 bars filled (excellent limewire connection) and there is no brick wall by the picture of the world. For example: I just tried to download "Burn" by Neurosis from a T3 or higher, and am getting one kilbyte per second, down to about .1 now. Any idea what would cause this? Thanks |

![]() Hey, It's a bit better, around 2.1 kbps while the other ones jumped up to about 1.2 kbps. I already deleted the .limewire folder in but could not find the one in application data, though i did get into application data, there was no limewire folder there, ust anvil studio, morpheus, adobe etc. Thanks for the help so far! ![]() Yeah sorry, I realised you'd deleted the prefs folder but didn't edit my post in time, I guess ![]() The folder in Application Data's hidden...you'll have to show hidden files & folders before you'll see it. Those files from magnetmix should download pretty fast. And since you've tried other p2p & had the same problem, it could be something to do with your ISP. Is there a monthly download limit for your plan? If you've exceeded that, your speeds might drop (you'd have to check this out with the ISP). I can't find anything in Platinum's acceptable use policy to say that they'll zap your bandwidth if they think you're using too much but...doesn't always mean it's not happening. Did you update the Java? Try & find that hidden folder & delete it, might make a difference. |
