I am connected, I just can't download!!! Help me, someone, Please!!! Hello, all! I am really not getting anywhere by reading previous threads and posts about how to "configure" ports and all of that. I have done that, and I am now connected to Limewire, which, about ten minutes ago, I was not able to connect. So, now, when I click on an audio song to download, it says, connecting......then it will either say, Need More Sources, or Waiting On Busy Hosts. And it says this for EVERY song I am trying to download. I have never really had this much trouble with Limewire up until about two weeks ago. I updated it and all of that, but I am really frustrated because it is not downloading. Anyone have any tips or advice for me???? :ranting2: |
There are lots of fake files around now...these will sit connecting for ages & then show need more sources but they won't ever download. Typically these are newer releases & have heaps of sources (up to 100). For files like these, check the thread below for info & tips http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...11&postcount=3 Waiting on busy hosts just means that the host with the file you want is just too busy to service your download right now...search a little bit later & you might find that you're able to download normally. Is this really happening for every song? Try to download an old song, with only a few sources (say 3 or less) & even try a modem source. If every single thing that you try to download really does cause probs, try deleting LW's preferences folder when LW's closed. See points 2 & 3 below for instructions Fixes for LimeWire  Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall)?? |
Hi. Thank you for responding to my problem. Only now it just won't connect anymore. It always has a pop up saying that I have no internet connection or a firewall is blocking Gnutella, which, I have switched all of my firewall stuff around to let Gnutella be an exception, so I have no idea what is going on. Yes, I do see a brickwall in front of my blue world thingy. What does that mean? Something to do with the firewall, I am assuming, right?? |
To help us, can you answer the questions here please System details - help us to help you |
I don't believe it has anything to do with my system and whatever I have for a router or what have u, due to the fact that I was able to use Limewire up until this new update took effect. I had no problems downloading, no connection problems, and now, everything is either one or the other. I have recently updated my Java, and reinstalled and uninstalled Limewire, twice, and I am so frustrated!! |
