Download Problems

Hi

At the moment majority of files i attempt to download are not succesful they just attempt to "Connect" then the message changes to "needs more Sources".

Ive noticed that the few files i can download are ones that their quality is displayed as 4 blue stars.

Is there anything i can do as i used to be ables to download majority of audio files that i attempted to download.

Those things that sit connecting, then show need more sources are probably fake files...they're all around now & are a PITA.
Search again, vary your search terms, try the All Types search. Stay away from files with lots of sources, go for a file with 10 sources or less, or those with a modem source.

For movies, always check a file before download with Bitzi. A file with heaps of sources but no Bitzi rating is often a fake.

For music, try the tips in this thread

And for some general info about these fakes

The blue star results are from someone on your LAN, they'll download really fast:wink:

Hi Thanks

I think the problem may be that in the bottom left hand corner there is a globe with a brick wall in front of it. Despite this i was still able to download those files with a quality rating of four blue stars?

How do i get rid of the brick wall?

You'll need to read through this sticky
Connection problems? Check here first!

Start off by making sure that you're only using 1 software firewall & that it's configured properly. The firewall problem might be within your modem/router, so take notice of the enabling UPnP & port forwarding info.

If you're still stuck, post back with details as shown in post #2 of the sticky;)

Hi all, my problem is that I can dowmload audio and programs just fine, but when it comes to .avi files they will not download. All I get is the connecting then needs more sources. I have read thru countless post already and have learned many things I didn't know about Limewire. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this.

Thanks

Check the file with Bitzi.

You can download programs & music, so your LW's working. Just be careful with programs...they're often infected.
