I have very fast broadbad giving me a possible download rate of over 1500kb/s. But when i download Movies it slows up to about 10kb/s?? Is there anyway i can speed it up or is it a problem with my ISP???:(

Your download speed depends on your speed, the host's speed, how many slots the host(s) have open, how many hosts you're downloading from etc etc.
What happens when you download other file types (eg audio)? Is your speed slow then, too?
Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue globe)?
How many green connection bars do you see?
Who is your ISP?

Try downloading a file from here & see what speed you get

1500 kbps equals about 180 KB/s (LW measures it's download speed in KB).

Any chance that you've gone over your monthly download limit (if you're on a plan with a limit)? You should be able to check your useage stats on the iinet website.

Thanks for the great tips. I checked everything you said and clicked on the LW link that came along with you tips. I have learnt a hell of a lot about KB/s compared to kbps etc. Everything actually comes in at exactly the rate it suggets etc. Broadband is only new to Dampier and to me too. I owe you for you tips.
O yeah, I checked and I havent exceed my quota .......... yet. And they are shaping it either. :super:
