Under the Tools tab at the top of the page, you should see an option category. Open up this options tab and just search through all the available options that you can change to better the performance of your downloading and uploading experiences. To understand any program, you have to read and then apply before getting any type of results. Go look into all the areas that are available to you with LimeWire.
