For a month now ive been using limewire. You know when downloading music, theres a little icon next to the song that says if its itunes compatible?Well one day i came on and all the songs names had the itunes icon!Well i though "this is good now i dont have to search for songs as much".WRONG.Even if they have the itunes sybmol they dont work for itunes! this happens to ALL songs. It makes it virtually impossible for me to find songs for itunes now!HELP!!!:bangh: :bangh: :bangh: :bangh: :bangh:

That icon has nothing to do with compatability with your player...
You would have itunes as your default media player and that is why you see the itunes icon, if you had WMP as your default media player you would see WMP icons instead....:rolleyes_2:

You'll see the iTunes icon if iTunes is your defaualt player. If RealPlayer's your default, you'll see the RP icon & so on for different players;)

See the thread below for info about adding music to iTunes
Transferring music to iPod & iTunes

Oops...too slow!

Check To See What Media Player You Have As Default !!

What I'd do is check to see what you have as your default Media Player. What I do is have Windows Media Player as my default player. When I download music, I have my downloads targeted into my LimeWire Shared Folder. I then cut these songs and place them in a folder that I named Music. I then select which songs that I want to be played on iTunes by right clicking on that song and go to Open With tab. I select iTunes player, and it will then be played on iTunes. You then add the songs to a playlist in iTunes. You will have no problem adding them to you iPod. I've never had any problems occur. Good Luck !!!

I think I have worked out what you just typed...This is a forum not a text message....:w00t:

Anyway Go to your shared folder (outside of limewire)
Right click on a MP3 file
Select open with
Select choose program
Select itunes (or whatever you want)
tick the box that says always open this type of file with this program...

There you go you have now selected your default player and you will see the icons next to your searches....:rolleyes_2:
