Default search returns results, can't download nothing..

hi.

since a certain moment, i can't download a thing from limewire. i've tried pro and basic as well. it's not a firewall problem for sure.
the search results are appearing normally, when i'm trying to download a file it's impossible (i've downloaded nothing since 3 days). limewire is connecting to the host for a couple of secs or mins, than just waiting for more sources and there is nothing i can do..
Thx for some hints.

me too.

i've been through the help page but it wasn't much use. i'm not blaming the page, i just don't understand where to find the exceptions in norton 2007. i'm too scared to tamper!

i don't want to hijack your thread, but good luck, hope we're both up and running again soon!

i've just looked in the "read this first" section at the top, and it was pretty useful and well put out - although it didn't help my problem unfortunately!

i seem to be up to three bars now and - oh, spoke too soon.....

anyway, if you haven't looked there, it's worth a try

asebest,
Sounds like you might be trying to download fake files. The connecting for a while then showing 'need more sources' is pretty typical

i took a look at the FAQ and all the common connection probs in this forum, but it didn't help. and i didn't bump into a fake file before. i can't believe, that every file i've tried to download was fake. i don't speak about some rare files, but common stuff that should not be hard to find.

Just type in the less common words e.g. in this song "She'll be coming round the Mountain when she comes" ONLY type "Mountain" in search.
Mostly its small common words that trigger spam results, SO LEAVE THEM OUT
When I see what I believe is a result I want, I right click on it, choose search,
and get more of this exact search result.
Now this particular result has its own signature, a sample of the first part of the
file, this is unique to that file, so now when you search, even if someone has
changed the name of that file, it will still come up & be counted as a # in the
results. # means the number of uses that have that file for share.
