Upload trouble, and router config input The trouble is: Lots of transfer interupted. The question with my linksys router is: I have an option to port range forward(that allows me to set a range of ports and an option for both tcp and udp. And an option for uPnP forward that allows after set only one or the other. So how do I set either? |
I'd first try to set it up under UPnP mode. Therefore you have to enable this function as well in LW (Go LW>Tools>Options>Advanced>Fireall Config.). For portforward you need to set up a static IP for your router. Read here on how to do so: http://www.portforward.com/ TCP/UDP should have the same numbers.... :Smilywais: |
Ok, then in uPnP mode, as mentioned, should i just pick tcp? as there is no option for both? |
If there is no option for "auto detect", well, I'd say give it a shot....then you'll see what happens..... :Smilywais: |
UPnp mode is both, as upnp selects the closest available ports it can find for connection & listening. But, you can at least change listening port. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change listening port to say 64049. Then restart LW. After I saw FOTH's post before me I had a memory collapse as to what i was going to edit in. :D My memory fails me but most traffic goes one or the other tcp or udp. One is mostly for information & the other for file data. |
Ok, I want to say my fire wall block is gone now, but, im not sure why, but my port selection is set to 14481. something i read here some time ago. Is this a problem? edit i will set the port you say, but was just wondering where i got the port i said |
Not at all, as long as the firewall detection has disappeared as well as the small brick wall in front of the globe, you can use this port number. :Smilywais: |
wall is gone, and will give input later as to my upload progress, ty |
