Default No downloads since upgrading

I upgraded to the newest Limewire version 10 days ago. Since then, I've been unable to download a SINGLE song. No problems getting a strong connection(all green bars), or finding songs. Yet when I try to download, I get stuck on "connecting" and then "need more sources".
Is there a problem with the new version?

At a first glance, two things come to my mind.....

First, did you also upgrade your Java installation?? If not, uninstall LW and all Java versions on your system. Reboot and then download the JRE offline installer of the newest Java version from here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
Install it and reboot again, then reinstall LW.

Second, you might have a corrputed LW preference folder.
Read here on how to delete this folder (Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire)

Afterwards reboot your computer.

Also, be aware that there are a lot of faked files flooding the network.
Read here about how to recognize them:

Before doing any uninstalls and reinstalls, consider this: I've tried to download several songs today. I've been successful on 3, and they downloaded very quickly. Is LW an all or nothing proposition? If I'm able to download some, b ut not all, does that indicate my LW is working? And does it mean that all those other non-downloading sites are fake, or stuck behind firewalls? I adjusted the options listed elsewhere on this forum.
Further info: I'm WinXP, ISP provider is Comcast(just took over from Adelphia). Thanks!

Yes, it would be most likely that the other files you've tried where either faked or couldn't be downloaded because their hosts were firewalled, not online, have moved their files, have re-named the files or even deleted them...

Its my opinion that the New Version 4.12.6 IS the problem.
Peace.
