What kind are the disks and are these converted DVDs?

If converted what program do you use?

Some players will only play certain or even no burned disks

I have tried to use CD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW on NERO XPRESS and DixV. I have also purchased some DVD-R because I thought that NERO was asking for them and when I tried to use them it rejected and asked for CD-R. I also have Windows Media. HELP, which CD/DVD's do I need??? Thanx

Well you didn't really answer my questions, but think you might be trying to burn videofiles you downloaded of Limewire to DVD. If I'm wrong about that then sorry.

First thing's first. Do you even have a DVD burner?
It sounds like Nero rejects every DVD you tried, no matter what type.

Second. Nero Express does not convert the files to DVD format, it only burn the files in same format as when you downloaded them. Eg. .avi or .mpeg

To convert and burn a videofile to DVD as a DVD video you need to use the program called Nero Vision (Nero7) or Nero Vision-Express (Nero6). Also you are much more likely to get a succesfull burn done using Nero7 than Nero6.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make a DVD using Nero7, but you will need to have a DVD burner and not just a CD burner.

If I was wrong to assume that this is what you wanted to do, then please be more specific in next post. Tell me what you want to do, what format the files you want to burn are in, what format you want them to be burned as and just anything else you think might be helpful in getting you the right answers to your problem.

Sorry I am very new to downloading dvd's, I have done many music cd's but never dvd's! I do have a dvd burner and I have nero vision express. I used regular nero the first time ( same one I use to make music cd's). I dont know about converting, the format the movie download is in is mpg. And I have it burned onto a dvd+r and a cd-r and they both play in the computer but not the dvd player????

Try using the guide I posted (there are screenshots). They won't look the same as in your Nero because it's probably Nero6 you have. You should still have Nero startsmart and from that you should be able to go to the DVD authoring program.

If the burns you made were finished fast (like 10-20 minutes) then Nero did not make it into DVD format, but only burned them as data.

Making a DVD would normally take about 2 hours.

If Nero came with the computer, then it's not sure that you have these options at all.

Also if the sourcefile (the files you downloaded) are .avi then it may not be possible to burn them to DVD using Nero6

It really depends on the DVD Player you are going to play them with. Try and look at the front or the top of the player and look for eg. DVD+R , DVD-R etc.

I use Verbatim DVD+R normally. They are pretty reliable.
