Try these things: Fixes for Limewire. BTW step 1 means removing all your java versions & reinstalling using only the
"Offline" Java 1.5
Also try steps 3, & 5.

uhmmmmm

everytime i try to open or explore the folder... it says that windows explorer has encountered an error
i can't delete it either, same thing happens... maybe its cuz at one point i renamed the folder and then limewire was uninstalled and reinstalled?

i dunno... this is messed up, i can't even use limewire anymore :( :mad2:

Your Java should be accessible through your add/remove programs, same with your LW...Try unistalling them and start fresh...:rolleyes_2:

Don't uninstall LW using your add/remove control panel or you'll get into all types of bother.
Use the Start menu > Programs > LW > Uninstall. Use the "Offline" LW installer to reinstall. ;)

If you uninstalled LW using the Add/Remove control panel then that's why you're having problems. Not for 2 years has LW been able to be uninstalled properly using the add remove control panel because it uses a different type of installer.

If you used the add/remove control panel to uninstall LW then you'd better tell us.

I've a suspicion they did it before you even posted which is why they are having problems. However changing the name of a folder might confuse LW. If you're going to change the name of the downld folder, change it whilst LW is not downlding any files, then reselect the download location from options. Don't change the name of the incomplete folder.

uhmm

 I already did it...
and renaming the folder isn't gonna cause limewire to not open at all is it?
its called "LIMEWIRE"
and now for some reason i can't open it or even see the files inside....
or delete the folder :(

Boot up in safe mode & you should be able to delete it or rename back to before, etc.

After that, run this program Crap Cleaner.

Then follow the directions from here onwards in the following posts: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...992#post243992
