Lightbulb Very weird problem !!!

hi,
these past days i've been downloading large files, and this very weird thing keeps happening; the download progress would go back 1% or 2% (like if it's at 75%, it suddenly jumps back to 74% and resumes) and it keeps happening like 5+ times on the same download. does anyone know what's happening?

Is it happening with just the one download? There might be a corruption within that file

If it's happening with everything you download, post back just in case there's something else going on with your computer.

Angry

It has happened 3 times before and those files i ended up cancelling them because a message popped up saying there's a corruption in that file blah blah and it keeps happening on this 915mb file that i still haven't finished downloading.... On the link you gave me there, i don't know what he means on the last sentence, where do i go to check what part of the file is corrupted?

If you right click on the column header of the downloads window (where you see your download's progress etc) then choose more options, then tick 'extended tooltips'.

Have a look at the image below. Right click in the area marked by the red rectangle

If it keeps happening with the file, I'd probably write it off & search again.
Don't forget to check movies with Bitzi before download

Question

hi again,
what should i do if the problem (the % jump backs) keeps happening on almost everything i download now?? because it keeps happening at least twice on a download!!!

& another thing: the big file i was downloading finished (the one with 5+ % jump backs) and there's something wrong with it.. it's a mpeg2 file and it plays fine but the sound... there's something wrong with it. it plays veryyy slow and skips like every 5 seconds. i don't have this problem with my other mpeg2 movie clips, it's just this one.. is there anything i can do to fix the sound? or is it my windows media player? if it is the wm player, what should i download to play music and all the types of movie clips?

thanks in advance
