can't open Images.
 

Do you know why I can't open images? They download but won't open. When I double click on them, nothing happens.
Just to the left of the name of the picture on my screen, there is a little red box and when I put the mouse pointer on it, it says, "EasyShare gif". Is this the problem? Thanks.

Have you tried right-clicking on the file and using open with...

My .gif files default to Microsoft Picture Manager, but I just opened one with the paint program, too.

Yes, I tried right clicking on the file name and clicking on "Launch" but still nothing happens. What is the little square box (with the red middle) to the left of the file name for? Thanks.

Still can't open image files
 

I have Windows XP, use Firefox browser, and use Windows Media Player. The problem I am having is I can't open images files. I can download and listen to music but not images.
The images download ok but won't open. When I double click on them, nothing happens.
Most of them are jpg. Just to the left of the name of the image file, there is a little square red box and when I put the mouse pointer on it, it says, "EasyShare gif".
Do you know why I can't view the image files?

Something wrong with the default program used for opening such files. I personally use OSX's Preview program or QuickTime. A windows user may have a better option. I believe Windows XP does have image viewing tools. Check your accessories under the start menu. If you find one that plays them then make that one the default.

Click on ANY .jpg, .bmp, gif or .tiff file in Windows Explorer, select OPEN WITH>CHOOSE PROGRAM and choose Windows Picture and Fax Viewer or any other picture viewer program you have (maybe ACDSee). Check "Always use the selected program to open this file type.

Hopefully that will solve the problem......
