Default Preview Problems

I've always had this problem with limewire for when I'm downloading a video file, I try to click the preview button when its at least at 15% to see if what I'm downloading is what I actually need. I'm sure we've all experienced when you spend ages downloading, and then playing, then realising its something you don't even want. When reading the forums, Ive done the bitzi searches, but it says unknown all the time.
I'm not really sure why I can't preview my files. Can anyone help me out?

LW usually uses your default media player to preview video files. If this is the WMP then it ight be a codecs issue....
You could try to use a different media player such as the free VLC player with built-in codecs which can play almost all media files without problems. You can download it from here:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
As a side note, to preview files with it you'll have to open the files directly from the Incomplete folder and not via the LW preview function but make sure to NOT allow VLC to make any changes on the incomplete file.

Yeah, when I click on media files, it usually opens with Nero Showtime.
I also have the divx player on my computer that I used to use before I got the showtime.
So I did what you suggested, and I went to the incomplete files folder, and clicked launch on the items I wanted to preview, and nothing happens.
It's as if I haven't done anything at all. Any ideas?
Thanks for helping me out. I really appreciate it.

If the VLC player can't open and preview the file, then my next bet would be that you have gotten a faked file. I cannot reckon downloading (especially) video files that have not been rated with Bitzi,........

It's really strange, because even after I've downloaded the file, I can see it completely. If I'm lucky, its the real thing. But everytime I try to use bitzi, it just says unknown.
I really just wish I could preview the items before I complete the download. Unfortunately, it never loads.
