Please help..download problems
 

MY music downloads are taking forever. I have a new Gateway puter with all the bells and whistles. I connect with hughes net satalite broadband. I actually had better luck using LW when i had a dial up connection. It generally starts the d/l at 8 to 10kb/s then decreases to 1 or 2 kb/s then to "0" and its down hill from there. Keeps saying awaiting on sources or needs more sources..my fire wall is trend micro and i guess what ever fire wall windows has..and this a home computer not school or business.
ohh and i did up grade to LW-Pro..thanks for any help you could give me..:)

First of all, this is the forum section for the Phex P2P client and not the LimeWire client.

You shouldn't run 2 firewalls at the same time. Check which of your firewalls is enabled and then disable one of them.

Honestly, when I hear satellite, then I almost suspect that your ISP blocks or shapes traffic from and to P2P networks. You might wanna check on this by giving your ISP a call.

1. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
2. Try and download a magnet file from here and see what speed you get for it, then post the result as well:http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml
