Paulette is flying high
Default Seeing is Believing...Listening isn't the same..

1. Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? None- I disabled them to get them out of the way
3. How much ram? new computer = plenty
4. Hard Disk space available? see above
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? HDAudio Soft Data Fax Modem with Smart ICP; router? no clue
7. Where are you trying to connect from? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help;About LW...) Will show both LW; Java version. LimeWire 4.0.8
9. Who is your ISP provider? AOL through Verizon DSL
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: //www3.limewire.com:6346/" What happens when you go there? Your test worked!
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Nope- just me
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New User
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? No - there is no blue world anywhere nor any brick walls

I have 5 bars of descending size showing at all times and when I click on connect under the file menu, in the bottom left corner - it says "connecting" but it never goes through; I have a strong signal strength in my wireless connection.

I can't get the utorrent software to work right, either - I was able to download the audio for the episode and some really pretty graphics but no video - so any tips on that would be appreciated, but I am coming to the conclusion that if one software problem is solved, they both will be ; All I want is one episode of a TV show I taped over but this might be too frustrating for the tech-challenged <me>...

There is a world icon, it's down in the left hand corner of your LW screen...

Does it have a wall in front of it ??

Also you will need to provide the make and model number of your modem...Have a look underneath it, it should be there...
