Caz
Sorry for delay had to have a fiew zzzzzzzzz
It sounds like possably a corrupt java download, &/or L/W Prefs folder prob
First! close L/W completly, then Go,
START/My Computer/local disc C:/ Documents & settings/Your User Name/Application Data
Now Delete the LimeWire Folder.

Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Now! Use this Link to get (jre 6) Use the off line installer NOT the (recormended) one,
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

Caz do this, exactly like it says if you get stuck Shout.
Let us know if that works,
Peace.

Mickjapa and OP you still have Java 1.5 installed?? This Java has issues! You should go here http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp and scroll down to Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 download it and save to your desktop or received files. DO NOT INSTALL AT THIS STAGE now go to control panel add/remove and remove ALL Java 1.5 apps in that list including updates, after all are removed then install (JRE) 6.
Be aware that Java 1.5 and below are vulnerable to hackers attacks and viruses.
Also for your information your Adobe should be updated to Acrobat 8 if not already done
