Cant download some files...

I am sure this has been asked before, but i have been through a lot of the previous topics and none are specific enough nor does the author of the thread gives enough information to be dealt with, so i am hoping to give us much detail as i can so it will help you to answer the problem i am having. I am running on Windows XP Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2. I am using a AMILO A1650 Fujitsu Siemens laptop, 64 processor. Proxy Server Auto on laptop and no proxy in Limewire. IPX address not enabled. 1Gb of Ram. And 800MHz. My Service provider is Bulldog and my connection speed usually runs at 6.9 Mbps. I have been using Limewire for 2 years and had this Laptop for 2 years also. I am not clued up in all the binary of a computer, but can get my head around the basic workings of a computer and undertsand Firewalls and Proxys.

The problems i have been having is that i cannot download certain files. Like a lot have said in this forum, all i get is the connecting part and then reverts to asking for more sources. This happens even if there is over 100 hits for that file and it is over 128 Birate. If i go and look for an old file or song then it allows me to download it with no problems even if there is only 1 hit. It seems only to happen if they are recent released files. This has only recently started to happen. I have unistalled and reinstalled Limewire and it is up to date. I have run Limewire Pro since i first used it 2 years ago. I have also checked that the file does exist and is not a fake by going to http://bitzi.com and the files shows as existing. It tells me that it is there and what file size and type, Bitrate and Framerate. The File ratings are good and recommended. But still when i search for that file and i get over 100 hits whether it be AVI, MP3 etc it will not download. I have also gone to the webpage http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ and it said "your test worked". can anyone help me with this issue. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :amigocrazy:

Right, the easiest way is to avoid the first half of the search page for "popular" songs, these are invariably spam/fake/viruses, T3 is a little dodgy aswell I understand, scroll down some until you come across the 2 or 3 host items and try downloading them, it may take longer than your used to, but hey, any speed is better than no speed!!

If a large host amount is evident and the item just says connecting without doing anything else then the file is fake, (sorry should have put that in the last post)

I have tried to download from lower hit items and the same file, and i am still getting the same problem. I would agree with you that it might be a fake file, but that exact file does check out on Bitzi.com which should assure me that it is not a fake file. It has been recommended etc. It might still be though. Thank you for your imput John.
