Forever Awating Sources
 

I have had Limewire for a long time now and have never had problems, but in the past few day when I search for a song I get no search results or if I do and try to download it I get "Awaiting Sources" and I can never get the song to download. I am not behind a firewall and I have a turbo-charged connection, and I have also tried to refresh my connections but doesn’t seem to help.

Just a quick one, have you checked the bitrate on the files your trying to d/load?? Also the file size?/ You will find a lot of threads on here all with the same problem d/loading, because, mainly, of all the fake files and spam about.
The bitrate should be over 128 (some like it higher) and try steering clear of T3 connections for now as a lot of spammers are using these, quite a few are carrying viruses

the downloads mostly are T1 and all have a bitrate over 128 and sizes of the files are in the 7,000s.

And you have no wall showing by the blue globe?? What have you got checked in the licenses section?

there is no wall showing by the blue globe, but I could not find where the Licenses section is.

Can you put up all this information?

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)?
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...)
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
