I read all the threads, made all the changes suggested. I have the new beta version, I have core 2 duo e6600, 2 gigs memory, comcast high speed internet. This is the first time in 2 years ive had this much trouble. lime wire pro is worse than basic? ive tried for 2 weeks to fix it . :bangh: |

The 7 or 8 downloads that have stopped at 40 - 70%...are they showing 'need more sources'? Have you tried doing a new search for the file (sometimes this will kick start a download) or resuming them from the incomplete folder? Were they being downloaded from a single source? If they're rare files & there's only 1 or 2 sources, those sources aren't online for a while...it can be a matter of waiting for them to reappear. Did the trouble start after changing to a new LW version? Try deleting the preferences folder when LW's properly closed (instructions below) Fixes for LimeWire As for your uploads being slow, you're not the only Comcast customer to see this. Some ISPs limit uploads. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...7&postcount=11 http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...omcast+uploads |

Looks like Xtra have a Fair Use Policy which might account for your speeds http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp...9510&page_no=2 http://www.geekzone.co.nz/TheBartender/1603 I can't even find that policy on Xtra's site but you might want to check with them & ask. If you can find a model for your D-Link, we might be able to help you get rid of that firewall icon but if Xtra are throttling download speeds, it's possibly not going to make much diff to your speeds. One of those links above says that they're only throttling during peak hours...have you tried downloading during off peak times? Are your speeds slow with Azureus & BitTorrent as well? |
after 3 years limewire has gone down hill Ive tried to get help here none of it has worked limewire keep the money. It was fun while it worked. |

Hi Captin. This is what Birdy's Links are pointing to (Click on them) full story. Reply # 46860 posted on 26-SEP-2006 10:31 well I'm totally unimpressed... I don't trust xtra / jetstream to manage anything... from the site "So if you are using the Go Large plan and run peer-to-peer applications during busy periods, we will manage the peer-to-peer and other ‘non sensitive’ traffic to limit the congestion it causes for other users. Put another way, it means the majority of our customers – who want to surf the web or send email – will get priority during busy times. " is the list of "managed applications"... i don't see skype on it yet... yet...
