So you can't download ANYTHING... even if there are multiple copies of a file?
I'm still not sure how LimeWire search works but I suspect the ultrapeers hold a cache of the file names of the PCs connected to that ultrapeer. If that PC disconnects, the cache might not be deleted right away and file names might still show up in a search. Again, that's just a guess.
