Desperate Houswife in search of Heroes to unblock AVI download problem

Been successfully using LW for several years. Over last year i've downloaded rather alot of videos of episodes of 2 successful american series (AVI format). Since yesterday i can no longer download them, whether in AVI or MPEG format. I tried 20 different files, and each time finish with the "No sources" label. It's not the "fake files" problem, that's for sure. The weird thing is that i can download other successful series (except one) and all other video files, as well as all music files and documents (eg. photos).

I get the feeling that these two series have been "blocked" from me.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Anyone know what may be the reason?

If it can be of any help, i'm in France, operating under MacOSX 3.9 and despite updating to LW 4.12.11 the "block" still persists.

Thanks.

Have you tried checking the file on Bitzi ? How to use Bitzi Web Lookup. It may not be listed there anyway but it's at least worth checking.

My 1st thought is fake files. However with your experience if you feel it's not, then I am not sure. It would be worth checking to see if the ip address of the sharer is the same as the others who are sharing the series. Find that out by attempting to direct connect or browse them.

Another option is to try broadening your search. Sometimes series are offered but might not be found under the same search criteria. They may be named differently. Perhaps try using a all types search, or adding the main actor's name to the search, etc.

BTW unlike windows, fake files are easier to detect on a mac using LW. It's related to their behaviour when you're trying to connect to those files.

There is a small chance the host of the series has banned your ip address. Not sure why, perhaps hammering requests automatically banning you but new versions of LW won't let you do that. If your previous version of LW was more than 2-3 years old then that might be the case. Else your ip was banned by accident (only by that host).

Me too ....

Is it ****** you are trying to download?

If it is, I have the same problem. Have you managed to figure out why?

I don't think they have banned our i.p address because I have tried from several computers.....

Hi, I download the same "popular" series I think you download, and i have had the same problem as you, however since i came to realice that,
i began searching for the specific name of the chapter and that solved my problem.
For example, if it is from "H" i would write "Parasite" and i would get episode number 18 of such serie... If it is "DH" i would write "dress big" and i would get episode number 17 of the third season of such serie, and voilą!.
There is a site that tells you the name of each episode, and since i can't write it here, i'll put a hint, write on the adress bar the three usual letters from "world wide web" followed by the dot, then two little letters "tv" and then the other dot and then com... Got it?
