Avi. download problem help pls

Hi I'm new here. I've been having some issues with some of my avi downloads. They often download completely with no problem. But when I play some of them the picture turns out realy fussy and sandy. I recenently upgraded to wmp 11 and have since had no problems with any of my downloads old or new. But when I try to use my burning program to convert them to dvd I run into the problem with the fussy picture again. Someone please help me.

Are you doing other things with your computer while your having this problem? If your maxing out you systems resources while trying to play a file it can result in poor quality playback. Also while encoding and burning files to a disc, it's best not to be doing other things with your cpu. It's also better to burn videos at lower speeds for better reliability.

Look up the files with Bitzi before downloading to help sort out the bad ones. Also preview files when they get to 15%.

No I'm not running any other programs while I'm burning or downloading material. I don't even think it's the download itself that's bad. When I run the dls that are giving me problems with wmp 11 they play krystal clear. It's not until I try to use my nero burning program that some of the footage gives me problems. What could it be that I'm doing wrong, or what is it that my wmp 11 has that my nero burning program does'nt?

I might be your dvd player. Some don't work well with certian brands of dvd's.

No it aint my dvd either. I've never had any problems playing or converting mpgs, mpegs, or even most avis. It's just with some of the avis I am having problems. But so far I have'nt had any problems when playing these same files on the wmp 11. But when I try to use my dvd burning program to play back the file(avi.) or convert it to dvd the picture becomes destorted. But only on some of the avis. And some how when using the wmp 11 the problem is fixed. What, how, and why is this?

Try burning them at the slowest rate possible and if the option a is vailable set the encoding mode to High Quality(2-PassVBR). Burning at a slower speed is more reliable. Less chance something will be corrupted.
