You don't even tell us what happens when you try to download:rofl:...I'll just have a guess.

If files don't move into the download pane, try this
License (click)

If files get stuck connecting & then need more sources forever, they're probably fakes. Check out this thread for info & tips.
Fake files showing up in search results

Use the All Types search, look for artist or album rather than song title. Stay away from files with huge numbers of sources;)

The orange warning banner with the padlock was added because there's a bogus LW update showing up in search results. It's a 75.7 KB .exe & shows up as "Urgent LW update - download & install now". If people download that thing they could end up infected. To try to prevent careless people from downloading a dangerous file, the warning banner was added to LW's interface.

The padlock symbol doesn't apply to music or video etc, only to LW updates;)

Ok now I'm so confused. Let's start again.

For your files just sitting there & not downloading, click on the link here. Follow the instructions there, revert popups to default & then change your answer within the license warning box.
License (click)
Now your files should move into the download pane when you click to download!

The padlock that you saw...is that the padlock that shows up in the orange banner at the top of LW's interface? Like the gif image below.
If that's what you're seeing, it only applies to LW updates that show up in your searches. Don't download LW updates from the network...if you want to update or upgrade, go to www.limewire.com & download safely.

Make sure you're using a good AV program. Keep it updated & scan all files that you download before you open them. There are infected files all over the network...you have to be careful.
