trying to get better download speed OS windows xp home edition sp2, did the thing where it made it go from 10 to 50 for sp2 os (btw thnks) 2 gig ram intel core 2 quad 2.6 gh processors says physical address extension underneath my system info for computer when i click on it in my os have ssrt for service provider (its a military one) stationed in korea (dunno if that affects connection) windows firewall with limewire checked under exceptions 345 gig free of space cable connection connecting from the barracks (sort of like apartments except worse limewire pro 4.12.11 java 1.5.0_11 test worked isnt my first try at limewire but im not real experienced, been using for about 4 months no brick wall whew:) with that said... I would like to know if i can do anything else to help increase download speeds, right now i try downloading video and get about 40 to 50 kps max, which i can deal with but i would like to make sure there is nothing that i can do to get it to DL faster. AFAIK Korea is not a great place to connect from. They (their isp's) are not p2p friendly. Try setting your LW speed to T3. Remember you can only download as fast as your sources will allow. If you're connected to some dial up users then .... & you may only be one of many connected to another high speed user. |
