Another downloading issue... Hey hopefully someone can give me a hand...iv gone through through the fourums and have forwarded my ports for my router an windows firewall..actually this info will make things easier hopefully 1. what OS version? (eg: Windows 98, XP,OSX, Vista) XP 2. What firewalls you have ? Windows (enabled), McAfee (diabled at the moment) 3. How much ram ? enough 4. Hard Disk space available ?enough 5. Connection type (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) ? dsl, a dry loop connection ? whatever that means 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers ? trendent TEW 432-BRP 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.) ? - apartment complex 8. What version,LimeWire & Java,Go to L/W's Help/About L/W, THIS show both LW & Java version.? LW version 4.12.11 & Java Version 1.6.0_01 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider) ? Bell Canada 10. Do this test click here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ should say 'Your test worked!. What happens ? ---Your test worked!! 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.---no i was trying bitcommet but ran into somewhat of the same problem..but atleast thye would download at 1kb-10kb...lol 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.? iv used LW before but have never had this issue... 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface ? ---yes i have a brick but i dontk now what firewall its detecting 14. Have you given full permisions for LimeWire to pass through your Firewall ? yes on windows and mcafee 15. XP users, Please state XP firewall on or off.? on alright now thats done with... the problem is i cant download...it just stays in the limbo of need more sources....iv tried many times diffrent movies...still nothing.. i dont know anymore maybe someone can give some more suggestions i must admit im no computer whiz...but yeah any help will be much appreciated thanks in adavance Bill |
I think what you are seeing are fake files as they never connect and you will always get the need more sources message... yea i will try the bitzi but i dont think thats the problem... as for the firewall yea i did all that stuff right ....im all out of ideas...thanks for taking the time to help haha keepem comin im giving up haha but dont want to :) thanks again Bill |
