Something about security reasons
 

Ok heres my problem, when i go on limewire i download some songs and all if good but then when i turn my computer of then go bac on the next day it wont play the song, it says "LimeWire will not launch the specified file for security reasons" please can you help and much appreciated thank you.

Check the file extension. LW won't open exe files and there's a virus that changes all the files in your library to exe files. So check for that. Do a virus scan and let us know what you find out.

I was just trying to do that scan file thing, so i opened up lw and now all my files have turned into zipped folders

I believe the virus 6pac mentioned is the same as the one you have. I would recommend downloading AVG antivirus (it's free). It should help you get rid of the infected files. Unfortunately, I think any files that are in zipped format will be trash.

Files changing!! read this!
 

I just had the same problem!
I had to download AVG free from AVG Anti-Virus and Internet Security - Welcome and it picked up over 1000 infected files and viruses!! even though I subscribe to norton antivirus and it picked up nothing.
Once you've scanned, re-boot and try to upload something again. This time pay close attention to the end of the file name as this virus changes mp3 files to zip files with a exe. extension. Re-boot again and you will see that your files are no longer changing.

Good luck to you and a curse of pox on the geeks that create the viruses.

I downloaded AVG and now my Limewire has stopped working can anyone help>???? i know there is somehting to do with the Firewall but someone explain it in simple english caz i'm F***ed if i know!!!
