Pro is a joke They charge you 19.00 for crap, there isn't anything to dl. This site is a joke. Every dl attempt comes up more sources needed. Just another online scam. |
Do you know what p2p is ??????????????? Limewire does not have a site or a server.... Research.... Peer-to-peer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
Limewire runs the site and sells you worthless software. They tell you you will get more and faster dl. They run the site they should police it. |
I used the free version for awhile before buying the pro. I have downloaded hundreds of files and generally get dozens of hits on the things I search for. If you right click on more sources needed you can choose find more sources for download. It has always worked for me. The bottom line is that people on the p2p network don't always leave their computers on so files may not be available when you think they should be. |

If you cant find the file you want try a little bit later, and then maybe the person/persons who have this files, have their computers running again,so you can get it.(sorry for my english):o  |
Guy's this person doesn't know what p2p is, even after I supplied a link to explain what it is.... LIMEWIRE HAS NO SITE TO DOWNLOAD FILES FROM.... |
===================================== Cusomer Service Reply ===================================== LimeWire is software that allows users to connect directly to other users' computers, via the Gnutella network, and share files with them. It is not a music service, we do not have any members, nor do we make any such indication, anywhere on our website. We have no foreknowledge of, nor control over, what users decide to share over the Gnutella network, we do not place any files on the network for users to download, nor do we make any guarantee that you will find the files you are searching for. Firewalls are not the cause of every LimeWire issue. "Need more sources" is already addressed in our FAQ: Lime Wire » Download LimeWire Please provide a clear, detailed description of your problem, so I can better assist you. In addition, if you are getting an error message, you will need to include it in your response, exactly as it appears on your screen, as well as the exact moment at which you received the message. To learn about peer-to-peer filesharing, and the Gnutella network, please visit: Lime Wire » Understanding Peer-to-Peer Networking and File-Sharing Thanks, |
Aragorn24 You are one of the few junior member that realises what it means to use a P2P application like Limewire and the gnutella network, most members, both junior and experienced, think it is download on demand. And what is even worse, they will not take the time to find out that they are mistaken. The main thing about the network is that no-one promises that you will find what you are looking for, no-one says that the network it is safe and secure to use and, above all, no-one can guarantee anyone anything at all, because if they do they're lying. Using the gnutella network is a voyage of discovery involving the navigation of pitfalls, traps and all sorts of nasty things, e.g. viruses, spams, bogus files etc. However, if you are willing to put up with all that the rewards can be immense. Still, and time after time, we have people continually bombarding this forum with their petty gripes, stupidity and ignorance, I just wish these people would grow up. UK Bob |
Limewire sells software with promises that are bs, that is my prob. I know what p2p is, the pro ad promises more, faster dl, and its is bs. If they don't have any files on the site(which I know they don't) then why make bs promises that they can't stand behind. |

Muhctekdano You are right when you say: Quote:
Now we know that the Limewire Org. does not make promises like these and we also know that only scam sites promise that you can download films, music and games to your heart content but as most LW users know, all these promises are lies. So the question is, where did TexasThunder get his Limewire app from? UK Bob |

Limewire org never promise that you will be able to download files from their site..The is no site like that.. Only scam sites make thoose promises.. So i ask the same question ukbobboy01 asks.. Where did you(TexasThunder)get yore app from??(sorry for my bad english) Like i said before.....Give Limewire a little time..Search the network an if you can´t find what you want, just try a little later, maybe somebody who has that file in online at that moment..If you still can´t find what you are looking for try the next day... Limewire pro is a gr8 product :xeri_ok1ani: :super: Aragorn24 |
LimeWire is legal software, but it is illegal for you to use LimeWire to share copyrighted files without permission. Purchasing LimeWire PRO does not constitute a license for obtaining or distributing unauthorized files. When you download LimeWire software from Lime Wire » Official Website & Free Download «, you agree to refrain from using LimeWire for the purpose of copyright infringement. Sharing files in your Library Everything you share with LimeWire becomes public and trackable. To check which files you're sharing, open LimeWire and click on "Shared Files" in the upper-left directory. Clicking on the folders (and sub-folders) will show the files you're sharing. To use LimeWire legally, you must have the owner's permission to share every file in your Library on the Gnutella network. For example, music and movies from major labels and movie studios are copyrighted, and you do not have permission to share these files (even if you bought them). If you're having trouble determining if a file is OK to share, here are a few ideas that may help: * Look in the "License" column within the LimeWire program to see if a file has a shareable license type. * Files that another user has published as Creative Commons appear as Creative Commons. A file with a verified Creative Commons license is legal to share. You can verify a specific file by right-clicking on the CC icon, selecting "View License" and selecting "Verify". Files with unverified Creative Commons licenses may still be illegal to share. * Weedshare files appear as Weedshare in the License column, and can be legally shared. These files have DRM (Digital Rights Management) that allows users to play the file three times for free before deciding to buy. * Search for a registration with the US Copyright Office database. A work may still be copyrighted and illegal to share even if it's not registered with the US Copyright Office. * Check out + MagnetMix.com +: The Source for Good Content for more songs and videos that are free and legal to share. Downloading files on the Gnutella network There are many programs other than LimeWire that connect users to the Gnutella network. Keep in mind that many users disobey copyright law -- downloading copyrighted files from such users means you're both breaking the law! LimeWire filtering feature The LimeWire filtering feature is designed to help users share legally while protecting copyright owners. When filtering is enabled, LimeWire checks the status of the files before downloading them. If a copyright owner has requested that a file not be shared, LimeWire prohibits the downloading of that file. Enabling Filtering helps users share files with LimeWire more safely and responsibly. At the time of installation, you will be prompted to select your filtering options. At any time, you can set Filtering Options by selecting 'Filters' in the menu and then 'Configure Content Filters'. This will open the 'Content' section of 'Filters' in the Options dialog, and allow you to check the 'Enable Content Filters' checkbox. Right now, our filtering blacklist is not comprehensive and many copyrighted files may still be available on the network. Our goal is to eventually filter out all files that copyright owners do not wish to be shared with LimeWire. We are working to make the Filtering System as effective and error-proof as possible. If you are a copyright owner, you can register to participate in the filtering system here. LimeWire User Privacy Lime Wire respects the privacy of its users. Lime Wire does not log IP addresses and/or any other identifying information. However, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may be required to disclose such information. What happens if I commit copyright infringement? Your activities on peer-to-peer networks such as LimeWire's may be monitored by copyright owners. By committing copyright infringement your risks include significant settlement fees if you are sued. Copyright owners have sued thousands of people for online copyright infringement. Don't be the next one! Where can I get more information about peer-to-peer and copyright? More information on music and movie copyrights is available at the RIAA and MPAA websites. |
What the hell does all this bs have to do with the software I bought that does not do as promised. My problem is that simple. |
Pro is able to connect to 5 ultrapeers instead of Basic's 3. That means better search results when searching for rarer material. Pro can download from up to 10 hosts per file, compared to Basic's 8. If you are having problems then perhaps you should see Downld/Upld Problems Sticky to configure the way you use LW better. Instead of coming here to Flame just because you don't know how to use it to its maximum abilities. It's like buying a porsche & complaining because you're not sure how to slip the gears into the top range of gears for maximum speed. BTW have you read the LW manual? Have you seen the LW FAQ or their Support pages? Did you ask their support what the problem is? In any case, there's many threads highlighted here with more than enough info to help a person to maximise their use of LW. So get off your butt & do some reading or go troll somewhere else. BTW how many Forum stickies did you bother to look at before posting this thread? None right!!! :p |
BTW how many Big Macs can you buy for the price of LW Pro .. about 4 right. So how about stuffing your face with 4 burgers for 15 minutes. j/k Gnutella has a whole multitude of programs that use it. It has been so successful that the likes of the RIAA, etc. have done their best to try to stop it using many means including trying to spam the network. But they can't stop the network itself because it's not owned by any single company. It's people power. So now you know that it's up to you how to get the most out of LW. It works amazingly for me. But we don't have a clue about you because you didn't come here detailing your system details looking for help, but just to flame. Your thread topic says that. People wouldn't keep renewing their pro if they thought it was crap. |
I have visited the forums and tried the advice, make sure you know what the hell you are talking about jerk before you go putting down anyone. You don't know what I have done or not done, jerks that come in the middle of a conversation should keep their mouths shut. The jerks on this forum are one of the reasons I am leaving this site, you try to get help and you get a rash of ****. |
