download problem I'm having an issue, and I don't know if it's been covered before. When I download music, it's mostly in "Winamp" files, cause that's all that show up in the results anymore. Downloads come in fine and play in winamp ok and everything else. However, when I exit out of limewire, and then restart the program later, all of the music files that I had previously have some sort of windows player file "tag"(for lack of a better word). Limewire won't play them, winamp won't play them, and Windows media player 11 won't play them. Is there any way to fix this, or am I just missing something? |
Your search results display the icon of the default player for that file type. For example, if winamp is your default player for mp3 files, all mp3 search results will show the winamp icon. I'm not exactly what the solution is...have you made it so the Limewire player is NOT your default player? The Limewire player isn't very good. Tools...options...player...untick 'use Limewire media player' Hope this helps. Let us know. ;) Dan P.S. In order to change the default player for a file, right-click on the file, select properties, and then click 'change'. |
i have a download problem, when i download files of the actual internet i get speeds of about 500kbs yet in limewire im limited to 14KB/s. my isp is bt and i contacted them asking if they capped download speeds and was told 'no comment'. why is there such a big difference? |
That was awfully nice of them, telling a customer 'no comment' :imwaiting: Many ISPs limit bandwidth for p2p users. Have you tried it at different times of day? Some ISPs only limit usage during peak hours. Dan |
yeah until 2pm i get around 30-40kbs then after it falls to 14 at most. surely outside the peak time should i not get full speed? |
Not necessarily...your downloads depend on how many hosts are available, what speed their connections are, and how much bandwidth they're devoting to uploads. You also have to take into consideration that hosts are not uploading files only to you. Their upload bandwidth may be divided between many different people downloading their files. For example, if you are downloading a file with one host, and that host is on dial-up, you may only be able to get 3kB/s. Hope this helps ;) Dan |
actually i knew that but for some reason it didnt register, my frustration is cloudin my judgement!! is there anythin faster than limewire out there? bittorrent clients arent doin amythin for me either, they are still excrutiatingly slow. i reckon its all down to BT. is there anywhere u can download movies of the internet? |
