No, my download has shockingly started over, now I must redownload!!! Hello, everyone. I am new to this forum. Yesterday, I was downloading a movie, and it took all day. I didn't finish but I downloaded about 21% of the movie (i'm a dial-up user). This morning, I attempted to finish downloading the movie starting at 21% mark, and within seconds the download with all the way down to 1%. I was like "what the hell." I tried restarting my computer, but that didn't work. The movie is still on my computer, but I am not able to continue downloading from 21%. I had to start from 1%. Can anyone explain what is this problem??? If so, can you give me some assistance because I do not want to redownload this whole thing again??? |
Go to your Library window, select incomplete folder, press Explore button. Then the folder will open for you. Now arrange it by date modified. This will list files changed most recently at the top. Now see if there's 2 videos listed that are the same. One may have a different or slightly different name. This has been a characteristic of LW for a long time. Sometimes because there's a bit or byte different, LW decides it was not the file you were after & finds a different source for the file or else, the original one was changed .. perhaps that person changed its description ... I am not sure. Other than that, if you didn't close LW properly before shutting down computer, your download prefs will have been corrupted. Meaning it will have gone to zero. But normally if that happens your incomplete downloads will refuse to load into the download window & you will receive an error message. But all the same should with the recent versions of LW start from where it left off if it is resumed from the library. |
thanks alot. i'm still having problems, but i'll remember that the next time. too bad i am a dial-up user. i'm on 21% now after downloading it over again. it's about 835 MB, so of course it going to take forever. is there any way i can speed it up??? |
Only way to speed it up is get a faster connection, stating the obvious. Such as adsl, dsl, cable, satellite, etc. But if you can download from more than one source then that will definitely help to keep it going without problems. |
How long will it take to download a movie using high speed internet??? |
All times are GMT -7. The time now is 11:06 PM. |
