I'm having this same problem. It just started happening today.
1.Windows XP 2.Windows Firewall 3. 2 GB ram 4. 40 GB HD available 5.Satellite internet connection (low-end broadband) 6.Linksys router BEFW11S4, HughesNet DW7000 modem 7.Connecting from house 8.LW- 4.12.11, Java- 1.6.0_01 9.HughesNet 10.Your test worked! 11.Shared with one other computer that's not downloading 12.New problem 13.Yes 14.Port Forwarded 15.Just windows firewall 16. USA Thanks for any help.

Cattac, Go to View > ShowHide > Click on connections. Checkand see if you are hooked up with these IPs.
204.11.219.225 204.11.219.226 204.11.219.227 204.11.219.229 204.11.219.231 If so filter them out. Go to Tools > Options > Filters > Hosts Add Hit Apply and OK. Also noticed your Java . That version is giving some people trouble. You might rollback to version JRE 1.5.11 . Hope this helps
