Angry Disk Problem

I am getting frustrated, I have seen many posts for this but no answer. I am running LW pro 4.14.0 on Windows Vista home Premium.
I try to download anything and it immediately shows 100% but under status it reads disk problem. I have always been able to download with LW, this has never happened to me. I am still able to download with another P2P program, I have plenty of space left over 100 GB.
I emailed tech support and have gotten no reply, I have done a folder change, reset defaults re-downloaded LW, reset the license pop-up to download anyway, what else is there to do, I finally was able to purchase LW pro, it works for a month then this.
Please help.

I've recently had this most annoying thing happen. But I might not be able to help too much, there are a few differences between your problem & mine.

For starters, I'm using XP rather than Vista. Also, my 'disk problem' message didn't appear straight away...rather anywhere between 50 - 90% download. I could download music without a problem, it was only large torrents (movies) that triggered the 'disk problem'.
I have 60 GB of free space left on my HDD.

I ended up changing the location of my download folder onto an external HDD. Problem solved (touch wood) for me

Before that, I defragged the HDD (it's done regulrly but did it again anyway), Did a disk cleanup, checked the HDD for errors (right clickon the HDD > properties > tools > error checking > check now.

Start off by defragging your HDD, that's fixed the problem for a few people. Otherwise, check out these threads for more advice & things to try. These threads refer to XP but hopefully things are the same (or similar) for Vista.

Thanks for that but I have plenty of space and I did defrag, same problem.
Does anyone know the source of this problem. I still have no reply from tech support, does anyone have a solution?

Default Grateful

I wanted to say thank you to anyone who has offered help on this issue anywhere on here. I am at least able to download to an external HD thanks to all the advice here and throughout the forums. It is no fun having issues with software and not knowing the answer, so when people are responding only to help and not antagonize it is much appreciated.

I am still waiting on LW tech support to get back to me on how to fix the disk problem for my laptop, I spend a lot of time at school on their network and it would be nice to use LW there as well, I always have.

Anyway I think it is going to be a re-format type of solution.
Time to back it up!

Again thank you all.

OK so I am running Windows Vista Home Premium edition, I have two movies I downloaded--rather my husband downloaded-- and I have updated this morning to the newest version thinging this would rid me of the 'Disk Problem' message that I got for those two movies. It was fine until it went to verify the movie file and then gave 'Disk Problem'. I have over 150GB free space on my HDD so that isn't the problem, I have checked my firewall settings, I have run Disk Defrag daily as usual, and it's only these 2 files. Plus now since updating the basic edition I don't have access to my old LW files which bites BIGTIME. I've called Microsoft and HP both of which have told me this is a LW issue not a system issue. I am not that computer savvy so I don't know what to do here to fix it so they aren't in my incomplete file. I have also had a problem with trying to create folders to partition my music and video like I had set up before. Can someone help me please? I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any and all help you can provide.
