any tips for torrents

Hi all, I am running limewire 4.14.8, my OS is XP sp2, and i have cable internet through insight communications. I used to download torrents using bitcomet but started using limewire now that it has the new torrent features. I have been having problems with the download speeds once limewire locates the sources for the torrent, usually i wont use a torrent unless it has at least 50 seeders, and limewire has no problem locating a decent ammount of sources but the download speed is still extremely slow...rarely makes it over 5kb/s. does anyone have any tips or tweaks i can use to increase the download speed?

That's a real hard one as limewire doesn't give you much info on the torrent as it's downloading...
Do you have a wall in front of the globe ??
Do you get good speeds when you download from limewire in general ??

Usually average around 300 Kb/s when downloading other files on limewire. Im pretty sure that i dont need to do port forwarding cause when i had bitcomet it was getting a good mix of local and remote sources. Limewire is on my firewalls allow list so that shouldnt be a problem.

Wow that is a big difference...I don't think it's trouble from your end...
It's really hard to say, as we don't have the option to see share ratios or anything like that...
Nothing has been said about the torrent feature and how to tweak it..I personally think the dev's should have some sort of info on this...

Try posting over at the limewire org forums as some of the devs frequent there...I'd be interested in knowing as well..;)
