Hello,
I am hoping someone can come up with an answer to my question. I have created a music CD (CD-RW) with Windows Media Player. The CD will play in my computer but it will not play in my car. It does not recognize the CD at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

Try it in other cd players such as your stereo. Also, car cd players as peerless suggested can be fussy, they may not recognise rw's & in my experience don't. And also, the brand of cd-r/rw can make a difference as can burn speeds. Some players don't like the super fast cd-r's or cheap brands. Try a cd-r & see how it goes. BTW cheap versus good quality cd-r's refers to if they play at all & also how long they last. Some cheap brands only last 12 months, after which they start to sound distorted. So if using cd-r's, get the good & reliable brands, don't go for cheapies, unless you only intend to listen to it for a year or so.

Hi AG

I would just like to add to what Peerless has posted:-

First of all, not all CD players will play music (or anything else) recorded on a CD/RW disk, I found this out a few years ago when burning music on a variety of CD/R's and CD/RW's. Basically, everything burned onto CD/R disks worked, will play on anything, and everything recorded on CD/RW disks will only play on the computer that burned them.

Now, you might think it will be economical to record onto CD/RW disks, like I did a few years ago (when you got fed up with the music you just record over it), well as you have found out that is not the case.

Anyway, CD/R disks are now so cheap you can afford to discard them when you get fed up with the music you have burned on them.

Hope this helps.

PEERLESS - LORD - and UKBOB . Thanks to all of you ! Your suggestions helped me solve the problem. Little did I know that the solution was simple. The SONY CD-RW did not work in my car. It did not even recognize there was a disk present. So, I purchased Memorex CD-R. BINGO ! Problem solved. Thank you again for your assistance. :aweof:
