video to dvd problem

I have successfully downloaded a film using Limewire, but am unabke to transfer to dvd (for my own personal use of course). Can anyone help with the process please?

Remoc October 28th, 2007 03:33 AM

You now need to convert the file to DVD Format to play on your DVD Player. Nero or something simular will convert and burn the files for you.

There are a few free converting programs out there but would suggest maybe Googling to see what you come up with. Hope this helps. :D

Hiya Remoc..Have been having the same hassle with dvd's so am trying Dvdsanta..thanks for the link provided.
Perhaps you can shed some light on why my LM Pro movie downloads stay on 'Awaiting Sources' (I understand that it's waiting),but despite locating loads of sources,no download connections, that on a variety of movies.
Thanks.

You're probably seeing fake files.

If you're searching for music files, use the All Types search & search for artist or album rather than song title. Go for a file with 10 sources or less...stay away from the files with huge numbers of sources.
If you're searching for video files, always chech the file with Bitzi before download. If a file has heaps of sources but no Bitzi rating, chances are it's a fake.

Check out the threads below for more info & tips, including how to use Bitzi.

Box, AVI Files are the Safest (imho) and the files that I prefer. I have never downloaded anything other than AVI Files for Video.
You can take a look at what I use and have never had a problem converting and burning.

AVSMedia :D I use the Audio Tools, Video Tools, and DVD Copy

Thanks for your advice we are using 'ConvertXtoDVD' but when trying to convert, it comes back with a message ' This file is not supported or not an A/V file'. I know that the file I downloaded was avi format. Any ideas ?

How old is the equipment you are using, in fact it would help if you provided a list of your equipment: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...tml#post235237

Sounds like disk burner drive problems myself. ie: the disk burner drive is either not installed properly or is near its last days.
Have you tried burning an audio disk with this disk burner drive recently? Try it with a CD-RW & see if it works ok simply as a test.

What I meant by not installed properly is the drive is not properly wired (loosely connected wires / cable connector) or the drive is out of position. I guess there's a small chance this may also have occurred if the computer was moved & heavily knocked in recent times.

Disk burner drives that are used frequently only last 2-3 years before they come to a relatively quick death as soon as they start showing dying symptoms. The *laser* reader & burner simply wears out. Almost like a light globe. Lasers are in many ways basically a light globe.

Another thought is, have you tried cleaning the drive with a cleaning device. You should clean them periodically.

And yes, I've seen your symptoms before myself, it was the drive at fault. Either device died or device connection issue, etc. ;) But dirty drive also in some cases. :o lol

this might be some sort of driver conflict issue...

go to google and type in "name of your burner (brand and model) conflict with dvdsanta)

Blackhorse 70V September 21st, 2010 12:36 PM

Make sure that dvdsanta is set to the right drive.
