You didn't understand the instructions. What you needed to do was "create a magnet link", copy & paste the magnet link into an email or chat message to send to your friends. Then as soon as they click on the link, LW or their default magnet handler program will open & start or attempt to download the file. But you need to be online at the same time for them to upload the file from you & you need to have available upload slots & bandwidth for them.
