my music keeps skipping

when i try to play my sngs they skip on everysong and this isnt a computer problem my friends limewire does it to. how do i fix it?

The LW player will do that, especially if your doing other things like d/loading or surfing the web while your using it. It's best used just for previewing files. You can choose not to use the LW player by going to Tools>Options>Player. Then your default player will be used to play files.

I use winamp but there are plenty of others out there. There are some suggestions in this thread:

If it's LW's media player that is causing the skipping then change to another player. If LW is busy the player can suffer; it gets low cpu priority.

Try playing the songs in your regular player. If the songs play ok then you can change from LW's player to the other. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools > Options > Player & disable LW's menida player. Not sure if you need to restart LW, you used to have to but they may have changed it.

If your other player also skips lets us know.
