Why Cant I download more than 5 files

Hi - Completely new to Limewire so I would be soooooooo grateful for any help.
I am on Windows Vista and have broadband connection. I have installed and subscribed to the latest version of Limewire Pro but I cannot get Limewire to download more than 5 files at a time without the rest having "QUEUED" status at the side.
I have gone into my settings and set the downloads to all sorts of numbers higher than 5 and saved the settings after, but it still wont allow me to have more than 5 dowloading at any one time.
I am not behind a firewall and have no blue brick showing at the bottom of the screen.
I have uninstalled and re-installed Limewire Pro and even gone back to the ordinary Limewire, but nothing I do allows me to download more than 5 files at a time.
If anyone can help me please let me know ASAP.

If you're trying to download that many files from one host then it might be that the host doesn't have that many upload slots available. I think that most hosts probably only allow 3 to 5 uploads per person.

I also believe that downloading that many files may slow things down for you. Have a little patience and try a few less at the same time and see how it goes.

Thanks for your reply

Hi

Many thanks for that. As far as I am aware they are different hosts that I am downloading from, but I will check on that later.
I also suffer from diabolical download speeds even though I am on broadband and make sure that the person I am downloading from also has a fast connection -I consistently get under 5k for the whole download.
Your help on this would also be much appreciated if you have a solution.

Carol
