Very slow downloads the last few days.

I've experienced very slow movie downloads recently, even with 8 or more sources. I'm talking transfer rates of 1-7 Kb/second from 8 sources. Is there a problem with LW or do I need to change some settings on my computer? I've never had stuff download this slow before.

Recently I am crawling downloading videos. I am on Satelite connection but I use to download at 70 kb and now if I am lucky 10 kb. Not sure why though. ????

I am using Wildblue, and no I am not a heavy user. It has just recently started. I did change routers, D-Link DIR-655. I setup Port Forwarding, changed the listening port to 65530, static ip. Still I am flying at 8k/b now....The test works. Plus I upgraded to 4.16.6 Pro very recently and JAVA is 1.6.0_03. Not sure where to go now..????

I use Wildblue as well. It never used to be this slow. It's gotten to the point that even music downloads have slowed to a crawl. Maybe WB is throttling our downloads during the day.

I am not sure if WB is throttling it down or the load on WB is just that much in the evenings. I tried a video this morning, 62, 63. So it is fine in the morning, but in the evening, just about stops. Either WB is doing it or somehow Limewire slows to a crawl in the evening. But Limewire won't get slower with more users will it?

Yesterday I was able to download a movie in about 5 hours. Average speed was around 30-35 Kb/second, which is decent. I've had my best luck in the wee hours of the morning where many times transfer rates are over 100 Kb/second. I'm not sure if it's LW or WB that causes the slowdowns during the day. My cousin has Roadrunner cable and he says his downloads slow down at times also.

Downloads stall

Hello,

This is my first post....so let me say "hello". My problem is not only slow downloads, but a few that stall at 99% complete and never finish. Does anybody know why, or if I can do something to make the file finish. Thanks a lot.......varady1

I've had a couple of movie downloads stop at 99% also and not be able to finish the complete DL. Luckily, the entire film was already on my hardrive minus a few of the ending credits, so I was able to view the whole movie. This is a rare occurrence. Probably a bug in the program.

Thanks for your response. Actually, what I had to do was cancel the download, delete the incomplete file and then download from the beginning. It was much quicker the second time and I got the entire file. Strange, but it happened in three different downloads today.
