A Phantom downloaded file & search result

Every time I do a search on any subject the search results come up say for example 50 results, I always get one with a white box with a green tick in it with the size of 3462kb. I know the white box with a green tick in it means that it has been downloaded, but heres the thing ... I can not find that file any where that file size... it doesn't matter what title it is, it is always the size of 3462kb and I know there are other with the same problem about 68+ multiple users I think .... Help Please

sounds like spam of a new size. Try setting it as junk.

Spam of a new size ....

It was already set as Junk... spam ayy
every subject I search for in the found results the same 3462kb file has already downloaded.

Is it bad?

Unless its something you don't want someone else to stumble across in your PC I'd ignore it when it appears.

I understand the irritation but is it worth a day out of your life to pursue it? I've found such stuff in unlikely places while doing other things and dumped it then.

Check these links (a) If LW Will Not Connect, __ (b) Problems with the search, __ (c) Hostiles List

Although the first link probably doesn't apply, the others might. This will not solve the problem, but will (with any luck) at least help fight against it.

BEWARE P2p randon clickers

Hey Jayjo,
Man you need to be sure of what your downloading to your computer!
You may not have noticed that that file 3462kb does not show a bitrate!
Mp3 files should have a bit rate.
That 3462kb file seems like a worm or virus that actually directs you to download another program called , playermp3, from GoDaddy web site.
I have O idea who godaddy is , or whether , playermp3 is corrupt? , however I get heaps of spam emails from their servers (originating or channelled , I dont know).
If you study the files found during searching on Limewire, you'll be able to sift the good files from the crook ones.
Goodluck, look after your hard drive!!

yup Mark II...

And they do...

But, and here is where your comment does not obtain...

The display of a bitrate for any given file is totally dependent on the 'compatibility' of the client(s)...
(And, of course, the file being one that actually can have a bit rate to be quoted !)

You must not confuse the lack of a display of bitrate, within the GUI display of various Gnutella Network clients, as being synonomous with a bad or corrupt file...

Any idiot can prove, very quickly, what specific file sizes to avoid...
How ?
Do a search for your granny's name spelled backwards !
Anything !
or, one of my favourites...
"Britney's Historical Guide To Cosmology and Fusion Reaction Tokamaks"

Try it !

But, please do not confuse 'No bitrate info' with 'bad files', OK ?
