Hi, I just downloaded a software from LimeWire. When I went to launch it would not let me. This is what it said -
StuffIt Expander has failed to create an output directory. This error most likely means that the output drive is write-protected or a pathname in the archive exceeds the DOS limit of 64 characters. StuffIt Expander allows pathnames to be as long as 255 characters, but MS-DOS imposes a limit far lower than that. Unfortunately, archives that are able to store directory structures may contain pathnames longer than 64 characters, or a combination of the destination directory and the pathname may exceed 64 characters. This is most likely to happen when you expand files created in Macintosh OS or Unix, both of which support longer pathnames. The only recommended action is to try expanding into a destination directory that is closer to the root and has a shorter name. Does anyone know what this means!!!!!!! And what can I do to open this software? |
