Requery time limit 6000+ seconds help
 

My Download is saying "Requery sent waiting 6250s for results" is there any way to limit the amount of seconds it takes to do this? 6000+ seconds is a really long time to wait. my brother says on his computer it never takes more than 10 but he doesn't know how to change those settings either. please help

What the heck is requery anyway...
 

I don't know why, but I thought I would hellp to support limewire and buy the full version. I have never been this frustrated. What is all this new stuff and how does it improve over the older versions. I get mostly requeries and they are usually 899 seconds. How about, "could not download"?

It's an educated guess since the software developers don't seem to think it's necessary to explain revisions or to keep the Help up to date but here goes. I think requery was designed to address the problem of downloading very large files, like movies. When a big download tanks midstream requery kicks in and keeps the request alive and can resume the download if the file becomes available again. I've left the program running all night and had big movie files resume and load long after the older versions would have quit and shown "Could Not Download". So if you can walk away from the machine and just let things run you have a better shot at these monster files. I've also had some luck resuming a download that's in an interminable 'requery' with Repeat Search. If the stalled file shows up in the repeated search you can kill the stalled download and then request the same file from the new search. They actually resume where they left off.
Do you know anything about "Metasearch"?

They are designing a brand new support section but it is not finished yet. On Limewire's Home Page it tells you that. Metasearch? I'm not sure but it might be searching through the ultrapeers.

I'm not saying redo the entire support section with every revision. Just throw us a few paragraphs: What's new, howzit work. Case in point: Metasearch. Click on either of the last two choices in the file types menu. Nobody seems to know what this feature is or just how it works. Bet whoever wrote the code does. Some basic text-type help would clear up many of the questions I see posted in this forum. If you get any info on metasearch, let me know. Thanks.

Ugh! Ever since I downloaded 2.2.1, I have NOT been able to connect to anyone else's files! My searches always turn out fine, but when I try to download even the smallest MP3 file, it won't connect! I thought this was just a Mac OS X problem, but when I downloaded 2.2.1 for OS 9.2, the same thing happened. THIS NEVER USED TO HAPPEN with the previous versions of Limewire on OS 9.2. I made the mistake of deleting my old versions of Limewire, and now there's no way to get them back. What the hell is going on with this latest version? I'm always stuck in "Requery" hell with 8 million seconds left to go.

Does ANYONE have any answers?!
