y does it only ever work once? Hi everybody. I have installed limewire basic many times on different computers and its always worked fine the first time then thereafter it will never locate anything at all on a search. I thought because it was basic so i upgraded to Pro and lo and behold the same problem.................so for some reason i can only ever use limewire the once. Frustrating, Why would this be?? thanks |
Sounds like you are not connecting to the Network. Are the connection Bars Full (either Blue or Green)?? Do you see a Brick Wall in front of the Blue Globe?? If the connection Bars arn't Full and you have the wall, then you are Not connecting. |
Hi thanks so much for replying. The bars are blue but yes there is a brick wall in front of the globe..............? cheers |
It says that its connected. Love to know whats wrong as it happens on both computers. |
Try these fixes and if no luck then you may need to post your system details. system details 1. In LW go tools > options > searching > basic & check whether the 'show license warning' box is ticked. If it does, untick it > Apply > ok...see if that makes any difference. 2. Problems with the search 3. Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire This will change all of your settings within LW's options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things to the way you like them. Dear Remoc Thanks again for the help. No the show liscence box wasnt ticked. Im afraid i dont know where the preferences or connections tabs are found??? sorry! I am using a broadband connection. HP Intel/Pentium 1.40 GHZ 224 mb ram. Windows XP Home. I have 17.3gb spare. I have run basic several times on this and another computer and downloaded a fair bit then the next time i switch it on it wont go so i thought id try pro and the same thing happens. Fine until i turn it off and it comes alive but wont do anything. Says it performing the search but never ever finds anything. cheers |
Hi Lesley and sorry for your troubles, but we really need the info on the system details Link I provided. By providing those details, we may be able to determine if it's things like a firewall in your router or if your ISP may have something to do with it. May be several things but need more info. Thanks. |
