All my active downloads disappeared Everything was fine when I shut down Limewire. The next time I started it up, I got an error message saying my downloads couldn't be found. I found the downloads lit up in red in the incomplete files section. Some were very big movie files and were almost complete. When I went to "incomplete files" and tried to resume two of them, they started back at 0% downloaded, indicating I lost all of the data. When I tried to launch these two resumed files from the incomplete menu, Limewire said there was nothing to view. However, using the explore function on these two files brought up the partial files and they could be viewed. The partial files that were not resumed could be viewed from the "incomplete" section or using the explore function. I want to complete and save the rest of these files, not start from scratch. I have limewire 4.16.6 and am using Windows XP. |

limewire incomplete files in red The very same thing happened to me... have you found an answer yet? |
LW uses an auto backup system now just in case things like this happen. So I am not sure why, when you resumed the files they couldn't be found. It's obvious the LW download prefs have been corrupted somehow. This sometimes happens when the computer is shutdown but LW has not fully closed. LW can be very slow to close sometimes, lingering in background though not visible to the user. Control-Alt-Del to bring up window to see what programs are running before shutting down computer. Also having LW set to shut down immediately helps to reduce this from happening. The behaviour you described sounds like how LW was unable to resume files in above scenario in versions before LW 4.12 I think it was. Since then, LW should be able to resume the files when/if this happens. Are you sure the files are resuming at zero % or are only showing zero % after resume button is clicked. How it should work now is, you press resume from the incomplete folder in the Library window, and yes it will initially show zero % until the file actually starts downloading again, then it will show the correct previous download percentage. ;) So you will need to back up your resume effort with manual searches to try to find the original or other sources again to help start downloading those files again. |
my download is fine its just when i download it states that there is no file with the copyright and cannot monitor the content also please remember your local laws to the copyright. what should i do |

Well I had to start from scratch. They restarted at 0% and stayed there after the download resumed. |
