Upload - Message that Gnutella Network not being responsible, etc ?

I'm brand new here & feeling very lost. I've read, read & still
can't find an answer? When I type in Artist name,
songs appear ready to download.

But when I click on the song, Menu box pops up informing me:

'Limewire is unable to find a license for this file. Download
the File anyway?
Please Note: Limewire cannot monitor or control the content
of the Gnutella Network. Please respect your local copyright
laws'.
Yes - No - Cancel ?

I don't know what that means or if permitted to download
any of the music. I have typed in a few different Artist name
and keep getting the same message?

I am very New in trying to listen & upload any music.
Any assistance will be most welcomed.

Limewire is protecting itself by warning you that, without a license, downloading the file you selected may be a violation of copyright law.

I have switched off that annoying message (under Tools, Options, Sharing).

Thank you for your reply. I guess I shall do.
I did go to Filters to make sure the 'enable'
button was clicked on..
However even with that I haven't been able
to upload a single piece of music.. boohoo

So I will keep trying to see if there are any
Artist's that I can upload. I am now beginning
to think that the Artist's I am looking don't
allow for any upload/download..
