![]() Hi Again, I finally got to get Bitzi to work and that is really good, but, as I said, it doesn't explain why I am having this trouble with the forward slash dividing two numbers and only the first number of results is showing but the second number is enormous in comparison and those results flash onto the screen and then disappear. I will certainly be doing a Bitzi check on any file before I try downloading it in the future. So thank you again for that but it hasn't resolved my problem. I have put in a support request to see if they can help so with any luck someone else will have had the problem and now I am going to reboot again to see if doing it once again may make a difference. Trouble is I am too scared to lose the results I have because there is just one there that came up on Bitzi as good and I don't want to lose it. I am glad you spied me with your wandering eye. ![]() |

![]() So what you are saying is that that situation is legitimate? I don't understand because when I first did searches on **EDIT**, for instance, I got something like 40 or more results and there was no forward slash with a figure after it. I have finally got a copy of it. It has subtitles but it is the English language version and it is a good quality copy. Why is it that results will flash onto the screen and then disappear and the right hand number increases? I just did a search on **EDIT** and it is happening there, too. Why has this never, ever happened to me before? Why have I just received results and a single number and I go through the list and choose which one looks as though it will be OK? Now it looks as if every search I do is going to be that way even if I haven't done a search on that title as well. Yes, I had the two bad versions of **EDIT** which I had to delete and it was after that that this business of the title showing with the two numbers divided by a forward slash and results coming up on the screen and then disappearing in a flash and the second number increasing by that number? Why has that never happened to me before? I have had Limewire for about three years and never has there been a search result which shows two numbers next to the title divided by a forward slash. And certainly never have results flashed onto the screen and then disappeared in a flash. I have never done a search on **EDIT** and it is happening on there. I am really confused. I have removed all Limewire from my computer and done a virus scan where there was a Trojan. Did another scan which was clean and then reloaded Limewire. Last night when I started downloading one result, all of a sudden the virus siren went off and I received a message telling me that what I was downloading contained a virus so I stopped it, deleted the virus, again deleted Limewire, scanned again and then, for the second time reloaded Limewire from Update and still this is happening. The most confusing thing is why do the results flash on the screen and then disappear with the right hand number increasing as if that result has gone somewhere. I understand what you are saying about all the junk which I keep on trying to trash, especially all the empty files (38.5kb for instance) and I have found out before about getting bad copies of a movie because it has happened before and I have just done another search without all those probems I have mentioned, chosen another one and downloaded it, usually being lucky and getting a good copy. I really do think something is really wrong but I can't get rid of it. I know my computer is playing up but I would have thought that by deleting all Limewire and then doing a virus scan should have resolved the problem (rebooting before reloading Limewire). I am so grateful for your help but I don't think what you have said has picked up the problem. Search results don't come up on the screen and then disappear or they never have to me before. Thanks very much for your help though. I really appreciate it because no one else has given me any responses and I have now used up 80% of my month's peak download and it is only 4th September but when I managed to "catch" a result that wasn't junk, I grabbed it, but with downloading Limewire three times and so on, I have used 80% of my peak download and will now have to work between midnight and midday to download anything. Bleh... ![]() Last edited by Remoc; September 4th, 2008 at 04:29 AM. |

![]() You really need to stop naming the files as it against the forum rules to mention downloading anything with a copyright attached.... Let me suggest trying these tips in regards to your searching... Try going to your Connections Tab in limewire, if it's not showing up go to Veiw > Show/Hide and make sure the connection tab has a tick next to it... Then click on the Hosts and remove them and let Limewire search for some more... (try to take note of the hosts IP numbers if the same ones keep re-appearing add them to your host filter...) ![]() Tools > Options > Filters and select the Host Filter and add these IP's into it and select apply... Try installing PeerGuardian, it will help keep the fake hosts out...Remember to enable PG just before you start limewire up... ![]() Phoenix Labs » PeerGuardian 2 If you're using Vista, there's this PG2 Beta available for Vista users. PeerGuadian 2 for Windows Vista beta released - Phoenix Labs PeerGuardian 2:Manual - Phoenix Labs Wiki Another thing if you are using limewire 4.13 and later you can apply this hostile list...This will block known fake IP addresses...
