Default Songs corrupted with trojan wma files

It's getting more and more common for me. I download a song and right when it's almost done my virus detector (Avast) screams and I have to put the song into seclusion or whatever. Sometimes you can't find one that doesn't have the virus so what's the use. Am I supposed to report these or what? I'd like to do something about it. Strangle them maybe, lol. Thanks for any help. Should I turn off my Firewall or is that dangerous even though my virus protection is running?

I have a new PC with Windows Vista and DSL

Do Not Ever Disable Any Protection when using P2P. WMA Files have been known to be Problem files for as long as I can Remember. It has been documented here on these Forums for Years. I would suggest doing a little research on what may be the safest files to download on the Gnutella Network. Use the Forum Search Function to find and endless amount of info on this issue.

Default My solution

I searched the topic and was told to download A2, another trojan protecter, so I uninstalled my reg. one (Avast) and downloaded a2. Well it wasn't free like it said, it was only a 30 day trial so I got rid of it and went back to Avast and poof, the problem seems to have been solved. You never know what's gonna happen. Unless there are some tried and true methods.
Thanks Remoc for your suggestion,
Oapiti
