Default downloading movies problem, mac OS X

im trying to download some movies, ie, *****. and every sing one i try dosent have any video to it and the ones that acually have audio, its just for the previews and it skips all over the place. iv got quicktime player with xvid i downloaded because i told me to so i could wath the movies. it diddnt work

im obviosley not any kind of computer guru but i need some basic help why i cant figure this out

See Problems watching videos, see this (click on blue link). It has advice on how to get the best out of viewing videos on OSX. Having multiple players is wise for Mac. I recommend both VLC and MPlayer. Also getting Perian is wise for QT Player. Perian gives more video & audio playback formats than DivX codec plug-in or its player does.

Sometimes audio is encoded in a format some codecs cannot read well.
