You can't answer this one!!! (Searching "Whats New" brings up old files)

I've asked this several times and been ignored or got evasive answers like "You're not missing anything". Well that's not my problem but thank you very much.

When I search "What's New" under video I can get from a couple of hundred or like today almost 1400. Many, many I recognize from past searches months ago.

Whose is the geek of geeks that can answer this? :dracula:

If you don't get an answer it's because we don't have a bloody clue...If your so concerned about it go over to the limewire.org forums and ask the developers why limewire is doing this.... You won't find any geeks here...

You may be seeing "new" copies of files.

Lighten up, OC. You're usually pretty reasonable.

Thanks for the link Wondering. Oh sorry Blacky I didn't know I was getting heavy handed. It was the only way to be sure I wasn't just being ignored or overlooked. And I hoped I would tweak someones honor.

Didn't work. Well actually it did tweak Wonder enough to get me the link. A new copy of the file? I thought thats what the number was for. I often wondered if I changed the name of a download would it show up as new? I think so. I've downed a more than a few old ones only to find them repeats.

thanks guys

Same as with torrent sites. I find other people add new copies of old episodes, converted by themselves. 'Sometimes' the conversion is an improvement in quality. :) Sometimes they do it because the numbers of people with the older versions are not sharing them in numbers any more. It's hard to say why they do it on Gnutella. On that example topic, I wish people would start converting files at higher quality. More & more people have larger Hard disk drives nowadays, faster internet services. So a file 640 x 480 (or larger) is a lot better than one at 480 x 320 or 320 x 240 pixel dimensions, etc. lol which have arguably poor quality. VCD's are an 'old' technology, most people use DVD's nowadays. We don't need videos converted to VCD size. TV screens are generally larger nowadays too in the general population of TV screens. A reconverted VCD size video looks terrible on a large TV screen (be it burnt as vcd or dvd or simply watched via computer connection to large screen). ;)
